The Schaumburg-based non-profit helps homeowners in Des Plaines, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg assistance to help correct code violations and repairs.

North West Housing Partnership (NWHP) is a non-profit that offers a variety of programs and educational resources for first time homebuyers, as well as rehabilitation, repair and handyman programs for single-family homeowners.
“Since 2003, NWHP has provided more than 80 families with needed repairs through the Owner Occupied Single Family Rehabilitation Program,” said Robyn Sandys, NWHP executive director. “This program is a wonderful way to help those who don’t have the means to make these essential repairs. We are grateful to the municipalities that partner with us to provide NWHP the funds to operate this program.”
The Owner Occupied Single Family Rehabilitation program offered by NWHP is available to residents of Des Plaines, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg. Homeowners can receive assistance with repairs that affect the health or safety of the family, and get help with correcting code violations. Basic structural repairs including plumbing, electrical, roofs, doors and windows are covered under the program. A form is required to determine eligibility and can be found here: https://www.nwhp.net/nwhp-programs.
The program is offered to low to moderate income homeowners that live in their homes, with loans available between $20,000 and $25,000 under different categories. Residents of Des Plaines can receive a Home Repair Forgivable Loan and those of Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg could qualify for the Single Family Rehab Silent Loan.
